First Communion
Holy Eucharist or Holy Communion is the second of the great sacraments instituted by Christ in the Last Supper where he blessed, broke and shared bread and wine and commanded his disciples to “do this in remembrance of me”.
The Holy Eucharist is the chief form of worship at the regular Sunday services as well as the Tuesday Healing Service. All baptized people are welcomed to receive the bread and wine in the sacramental body and blood of Jesus Christ.
For those families who wish, a First Communion class is offered on 4 consecutive Saturdays in November and January. Each class is celebrated at a First Communion celebration at a Sunday service following the instruction.
If you are not baptized you may come forward for a blessing, and stand or kneel with your arms crossed across your chest. The clergy person will make the sign of the cross on your forehead and offer God’s blessing.
