Choirs for Young Singers

Shepherd ChoirThe Treble Youth Choir, for treble boys and girls, third through twelfth grades, meets in the choir room each Wednesday of the school year, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., under the direction of Alan Reed.  If you have a Wednesday conflict, alternative rehearsals are available from 4:00-5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. RSCM AmericaChoristers learn music reading, Bible, and liturgical and vocal skills through the Royal School of Church Music training scheme, and members may participate in the Royal School of Church Music summer courses. St. John's began sponsoring a summer training course in June 2004. The next course will be July 2-8, 2012. Please click here for more information about the 2012 course.

The Cherub Choir, boys and girls, kindergarten through second grade, meets in the children's chapel each Wednesday of the school year, from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. Introductory musical activities prepare youngsters for future musical experiences. This choir sings an anthem as the prelude to the 8:45 and 11:15 a.m. services once a month.  Mr. Justin Rhymer, our Assistant Choirmaster, directs this choir.
