Personnel Announcement in the Ordained Order
November 14, A.D. 2011

In the 2011 Ministry Plan as announced at the 2011 Annual Parish Meeting, we committed to shifting more of the day-to-day administrative work of the parish away from the Rector.

As of Monday, November 14th, A.D. 2011, The Reverend Michael Pipkin is named Vicar (for Administration) of the parish. In this role, more of the administrative duties of the parish will be his responsibility. An updated organizational chart appears on the parish website.

The use of the title “Vicar” in this way will be new to most of us, yet it merely represents that in a large and growing parish there is a need for someone other than the Rector, as the ministry of the parish so requires, to speak vicariously (on behalf of) and with the voice of the Rector. It simply allows the ministry of the parish to move forward when necessary without the personal involvement of the Rector.
