St. John's Episcopal Church - Youth Education

Saint John's Episcopal Church

Confirmation Class

This yearlong class is taught in the 8th grade during Sunday school. This year we are using the Young Alpha course that strives to develop the students’ understanding of the Christian faith. This is supplemented with teachings of church doctrine and history. It is hoped that the students will come to understand the commitment they are making when they join the church. Regular attendance is important. The Student's Life Application Bible is an excellent resource for confirmation class as well as any teen/youth seeking answers about God. It can also serve as a good guide for parents working with their own child to better understand his word. This book is currently available in the St. John's bookstore.
Youth Education

St. John’s Youth Education is an integral part of the overall church mission, and complements our strong Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) program. In addition to our Sunday school classes, youth are encourage to participate with younger students, leading the Children’s Sermon, and in various special events throughout the year. These events include the annual Advent Festival, Christmas Pageant, Lent Event, and Vacation Bible School. St. John’s Youth Education uses the David C. Cook Anglican curriculum.
