Fun and fellowship abound for our church family at St. John's, where many groups of parishioners meet outside of the normal Sunday services. The Young Adults Fellowship meets frequently for meals, activities, and other events, as does the Young Families Fellowship. The "Not Yet Prime Timers" is a great group for couples and singles 40 to 50 years old, who meet monthly for dinner. The "Prime Timers" (ages 50 and over) also meets regularly, and is the sponsor & organizers of our annual Yard Sale.
All adults are invited to join the Foyer Group. Foyer organizes couples and singles into small groups that meet monthly at each other’s homes dinner, fun events, and socializing. It is a great way, especially for newcomers, to become involved with other members of St. John’s.
Women are welcome to join the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) group. The ECW meets monthly and has activities ranging from retreats and bake sales, to ‘ladies night out’. ECW is not only a great way to meet new friends, but it also plays an important role in many of the community missions at St. John’s.
In addition to these regular events and meetings, St. John’s also has many annual programs like our yearly retreat to Kanuga on the last weekend in April. In June we enjoy a barbeque picnic on the front lawn with a petting zoo and inflatable jumping castle for the kids! In the Fall, the Men’s group has an annual Golf Outing Weekend. Finally, our fundraising event for the Costa Rica Mission Trip is held in the spring as a dinner/dance/silent auction.
