St. John's Mission: Commit ourselves to honor Christ through service, worship, education, evangelism and pastoral care. St. John's Episcopal Church offers many possibilities for worship, service, education, fun, fellowship and spiritual growth. Each of us brings our own unique abilities and gifts to God's service. We hope that you will join us as we minister to each other, our community, and the world.
As a Christian community we believe that we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in our community. We strive, with God's help, to engage in significant outreach, including addressing issues of hunger, shelter, health care and evangelism. Please call the church office at 704-366-3034 to learn more about our ministry and to get involved.
"We are not human beings in search of a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings in search of a human experience." - Pierre Tielhard de Chardin |

Your Input is Requested to Guide Design of 4th Service
St. John's clergy and vestry are leading an initiative to add a new 4th service to our worship options. The 4th service will be more casual and interactive but still based on the Episcopal Liturgy including Communion. Why are we doing this? Because many of our existing members have expressed a desire for added worship options and we want to fully serve all members of our parish family. Your input is needed to help us design a service that meets our needs and reflects our values. Click here to access a short online survey. Please help us spread the word about this survey among church members so we can get as much input as possible. Thanks for your help.

Inquirer's Class
This class is not only for those who would like to be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church, but also for any adults who have not been baptized and wish to be. In addition, this class is for any who would like to renew a broader understanding of the life and structure of the Episcopal Church, but who are already confirmed. The Inquirer’s Class will be held on Sunday mornings beginning March 30 at 10:00 a.m. and continuing through May 11 in room 201. (We will take Sunday, April 27 off from class, for the parish retreat weekend at Kanuga). We anticipate those intending to be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church will do so on Sunday, May 18 at 11:15 a.m. by Bishop Michael Curry.

CD Ministry - Worth a Look!
Did you miss an adult education class that you really wanted to attend? Would you like to listen to a particular sermon again? Did the music in one of the services lift your spirits? Then remember to check the table by the receptionist desk for copies of services, adult education classes, and special events. Recent recordings include the annual parish meeting, the Class Matters classes, the Charlotte Rescue Mission class, the RSCM Evensong service, and the Buxtehude organ recital, in addition to the church services, Dr. Cooley's classes (which are also available on DVD) and Dr. Laniak's classes. If you don't see what you are looking for at the table, sign up for it where indicated and we will try to leave it for you by the following week.

St. John's Stephen Ministers Program is Recruiting
The St. John’s Stephen Ministry program is now recruiting for their next Stephen Minister training course that will begin in September. St. John’s is blessed to have an amazing team of Stephen Ministers and Stephen Leaders, each of whom, if asked, would quickly tell you how rewarding this ministry is and how much it has benefited our parishioners over the years. If you feel even the smallest tug to become a Stephen Minister, please contact Tom Shober.
